What affects your final price.
Square footage. Larger jobs come down on a per-foot basis. Mobilization, demo, and base prep have fixed costs spread across the project.
Existing surface. Removing and disposing of existing sod is included. Removing concrete, brick, or unusual obstacles is extra.
Drainage complexity. Most New Orleans yards drain with a standard graded base. Heavily compacted clay, low-lying lots, or properties with no existing drainage may need French drain additions ($300-$1,200 typical).
Edging requirements. Bender-board edging is included. Concrete curbs, paver borders, or custom hardscape integration is extra.
Turf product chosen. The biggest single variable. Standard residential vs putting-green nylon vs pet-rated dual-backed turf, they range from about $4 to $10 per sq ft for the turf alone.
Site access. Backyard installs accessible only through narrow gates require hand-carrying material and removing waste. Adds modestly to labor.
